Pro Stock Motorcyle (PSM - formerly known as Pro Stock Bike)

1998 or later model bikes which retain a stock appearance. Bikes must have a front fender, simulated headlight and taillight, and manufacturer brand on both sides. The engine and body make must be the same brand. Weight minimums are set for each engine configuration and displacement and are subject to change to maintain a competitive field.

Top Fuel (TF) - Completely unlimited, nitro fueled drag bikes.

Pro Fuel (PF) - Nitro fueled, unlimited drag bikes, 151 cubic inch maximum engine displacement.

Pro Stock (PS) - Stock appearing Buell, Sportster XL, VR, FX based carbureted motorcycles, 160 cubic inch engine displacement limit, minimum weight with rider 550 lbs. post run.

Pro Dragster (PD) - Nitro fueled V-twin drag bikes up to 121 cubic inch engine displacement limit, carburetor only.

Pro Gas (PG) - Gasoline or alcohol burning V-twin drag bkes with various engine displacements and intake system options.

Pro Modified (PM) - Stock appearing street legal Buell, Sportster XL, and FX based.

Street Pro (SP) - Street legal Buell, Sportster, and Big Twin based carburetor only motorcycles, 200 cubic inch engine displacement limit.

Sampey to race for Klement, Rush Racing Products in 2008

Ending weeks of speculation, Pro Stock Motorcycle team owners Karl and Kim Klement announced that
three-time NHRA POWERade champ Angelle Sampey will pilot their Rush Racing Products Buell in 2008.

Rush signed on as Klement's primary marketing partner just in time for the 2007 Countdown to the Championship. A short time later, the U.S. Army dropped their sponsorship of Sampey's team for 2008 and, eventually, one of the most popular figures in drag racing was available. Did Rush president Lou Pringle see this coming when he joined forces with Klement in September? "I never thought the Army would give us such a golden opportunity!" Pringle said with a laugh. "Given Angelle's popularity, she's a perfect marketing tool for our products. We're very excited."

"It's outrageously cool," said Rush CEO Terry Daniel. "It's very exciting for all parties concerned. It's been one heck of a ride for us, and we're really looking forward to 2008. Angelle's very professional and brings a lot to the table. And we have a great deal of respect for Karl Klement. He's a phenomenal fellow and runs a very professional team. ANTRON BROWN AND MATCO TOOLS TEAM TO TEST AT GAINESVILLE

Antron Brown will again familiarize himself with the Matco Tools Top Fuel dragster when the David Powers-owned Top Fuel team begins its off season testing program at Gainesville (Fla.) Raceway on Dec. 17.

Brown and the Lee Beard-led team will test at the historic Florida drag strip Dec. 17-19 as Brown continues to acclimate himself to the Top Fuel dragster. The 16-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle winner competed in the popular two-wheel category the past 10 years before being named to drive the Matco-backed rail in November. Brown twice was a championship runner-up in the bike class.

"I'm real anxious and can't wait to get started with our test session in Florida," Brown said. I'm excited to work with our new crew at the race track. I feel we have an all star cast of crew members led by Lee Beard. We're having a great time at the shop, but we really want to fire-up this Matco Tools dragster. Our goal is to get my Top Fuel license and make some really consistent laps in the dragster.”
